For some years our students have said they have found the maths in GCSE Astronomy a challenge. Although we do not regard it as rocket science, we thought we could knock up a course which not only helped tackle the demons of the maths involved. But also provide the student with some introduction to the GCSE Astronomy itself and the process, like the Observational Tasks. The aim of the course is to not only prepare the student for the maths involved but also so they know what is expected when the move on to take their course with us.

Topics covered include

Hubble’s Constant
Standard Form
Powers
Kepler’s Laws of Planetary Motion
Measuring Circumference of the Earth
Celestial Coordinates
Angular Measurement
Distance to the Stars
The equation of Time
Optics

Depending on the learner it can take up to 3- 6 months to complete.

Please note the price is £95 for non OASA students. If you are an existing student please contact us before enrolling.

There is an end of course quiz with a certificate at the end
